I understand myself as a knowledge worker. Getting lots of data, information and opinion and transforming it into other data, information and opinion. I consider myself advanced in several software packages and I have a lot of exchange with lots of colleagues on how they manage information. Still, this book was a game changer for me as it provided me a different perspective.
It is written by Tiago Forte who also has a great website, social media stuff and a business built around the idea.
One of the key ideas is to organize information around the process of using it, following a „PARA“ principle or structure: Projects, Areas, Ressources, Archive. Things in the Archive will probably never be looked at again. Ressources might be helpful in the future. Areas are looked at from time to time. And Projects are the things that we are currently working on – mostly scheduling our time between several parallel projects.
The book also provides links to (mostly free) tools, that follow different approaches. I chose Notion.
The book gets my full recommendation. You can order it from Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
